Columbia Sportswear Men's Titanium Ballistic Windproof Fleece Jacket

Great Jacket, Versatile
I used this jacket while doing geology field work on rocky coastlines in Europe. I stayed warm even in extremely windy conditions, and cool on warmer days with the pit zips. Be sure to note the fit tip. Definitely has an athletic fit and tight through the shoulders and jacket fits close to the body. The close fit helped with backpacking and managing gear. I didn’t size up and it was almost too small (normally wear and ordered a large). I could only layer at most 2 shirts and definitely not a sweater or sweatshirt. The inner cuffs are a soft material and keep wind out. Cons: the elbows are reinforced (good), but for some reason the fleece is doubled over and sown leaving a ridge that hits your elbow. I think it is meant to allow articulation, but it doesn’t add anything and just is in your way. Also, the jacket could use a 2-way zipper so you can unzip from the bottom to access things on a belt (Brunton, camera, hammer etc.) and for additional ventilation options. Overall best fleece I have owned and the price is right. Is part of the Columbia red interchange system so it will zip into your titanium Columbia shell. I bought a second one.

Really stops the wind
When it says windproof it means windproof. I've been in some pretty windy conditions since I have had this jacket and not a thing gets through. It is however a little warmer than I thought it would be and may find limited use for this jacket come spring and summer. But over all a very well made jacket

It is a snugger fit, but that is to keep the accordian air flow from pumping warm air away from you body.

Exactly as Described
The jacket works as intended. Blistering winds and bitter cold have been no match for the Columbia Ballistic Windproof jacket. Make sure to pay attention to the fit tip, however, because the intended athletic fit is a little more snug than most of their jackets. I'd recommend going one size bigger for most people. As far as the service I received by Altrec, I have one word: exceptional.

Solid Jacket
I've owned a lot of Columbia products and I've always been pleased with their performance. This jacket is no exception. This jacket really seals out the wind. I haven't been in a bitterly cold wind yet but I think this jacket is up for it. I agree with others about ordering a size larger than usual (for me at 5'11" & 180, an XL). Great service from Altrec too. Shipment came in after just a few days.

ATHLETIC FIT IN CHEST
I am 5'9" and 170 lbs. I have a bigger chest than normal, but I wear a size large in all Columbia jackets except their windbreakers (medium for me). This jacket seems like it would be really warm, but it is too tight in the chest and when I cross my arms together; I had to return it.

Warm and Windproof
The Columbia Ballistic Jacket is great. It keeps you warm by keeping the wind out. No need for a shell over your fleece liner with this jacket. The fit is snug by design, so don't order it too small. The look and quality are great, too. I definitely recommend this jacket to others.
