Big mountain protection by day, snazzy fleece track jacket by night, the Burton Men's 2/1 System Snowboarding Jacket is the definition of versatile. The shell features Storm-lite® 3.0-E, a highly water resistant fabric with fully taped seams and a durable water repellant finish. The fleece liner, which zips in to the shell, connecting at the cuffs and behind the neck, feels like part of the shell and provides effective insulation. When removed the stylish liner works great on its own for relaxing after a full day on the hill or wear it with pride on a cool summer night, as the Burton logo lets your friends know that snowboarding is never far from your mind. Just because the 2/1 System Jacket includes a liner doesn't mean that Burton cuts corners on the shell design. It includes Pit Zips™, an adjustable Contour™ hood, an assortment of clever pockets, adjustable cuff closure, a waist gaiter to seal out deep powder, and articulated sleeves to aid arm movement.

well i've used this jacket spring skiing, and i loved it. day one i used it with the liner. the next day was warmer and i just wore the shell. it kept me dry w/ out overheating me. the vents are great. as far as cold weather goes... i won't know till December.

Disclaimer: I bought this jacket (in Red Rock, love the color) toward the end of the season and have not wore it to the slopes. However, this jacket is just as good for everyday use and is highly capable at doing its job, keeping its wearer warm and dry. The outer shell performed admirably on a cold rainy day in the Boston area and light enough to wear in warmer clims (~50 degrees).
Overall, very happy with this product, can envision many seasons of use and look forward to taking it to the slopes!

I am a bigger guy, and the XL feels just a little small, without too much underneath. Great price, looks good, the storm lite fabric really does the job, very durable. Pockets are good, hood fits well, sleeves do a good job at keeping snow out.

Since the slopes have not opened for the season yet, the jacket has not been tested yet. Based on fit and features observed indoors I expect to be very satisfied with the performance of the jacket. It has the features I value plus more. The only disappointment is the zip out fleece jacket color, white. I would like a warmer color.

I got the buffalo check one that has been long sold out. I have owned a Burton 3L and was hoping this jacket was comprable. It is definitely not. It has your basics, but technically it is not as advanced for some of the other jackets priced at $230 (the retail price), however at $125 you can't got wrong. The fleece zips easily into the hardshell. The fleece is also reversible and does doublt duty as a jacket and liner. If not for the reduction in price I would rate this below average, but with the savings you can get from Altrec this jacket is a bargain.
