Unless you dive into three-season-old bargain bins, you rarely find women's snowboard bindings with top-shelf components at affordable prices. Burton's affordable Citizen is the female-specific counterpart to the guy's Freestyle. It does everything right, whether you're an experienced pipe rider or a recreational rider who prefers the pipe and park to other places on the mountain. This easy-flexing freestyle binding also has a few new refinements to keep you riding longer. If you're new to freestyle or snowboarding, this is your binding. If you're an experienced rider who just bought a new freestyle twin and you need a good (and affordable) connection between your boots and board, this is your binding. The Citizen has a softer flexing, ultra-lightweight high back that's specifically shaped for women. The hybrid toestraps lets you decide if you want to wear the front strap as a cap strap (in front of the boot toe) or traditionally over the top. It's a great feature for new riders who are still at the early stages of finding out exactly how and where they like to ride the most. On back of the redesigned hi-back you'll find a Forward Lean Adjustment (FLAD) for matching the binding performance to the terrain and snow quality. A telescoping Luxstrap padding helps lock in boots while giving you enhanced comfort that remains for every run throughout the day. If moderate freestyle flex and response is what you want in a snowboard binding, the Burton Citizen Binding is all you need--at least until you start signing up for the serious freestyle competition events.
