Fortunately for those who live to explore remote corners of the globe, there is the hard-shell protection of our new, lightweight and packable Rain Shadow. Features include pit zips, a roll-down Optipull hood that's helmet-compatible and a raised internal matrix pattern that slides easily over layers and channels moisture away from the skin. Soft, compressible perforated hook-and-loop wrist closures, lightweight, water-resistant zippers and three internal pockets add to the finer points of this jacket. The relaxed fit easily allows underlayers.

Great light rain jacket This jacket is great for light rain or when it is not that cold. If it is really cold, then you'll either need something warmer or some insulation. The hood is great on this jacket since it is adjustable and you can see better than with other jackets.

Great Purchase! This is an all around great deal. The service was good and the jacket is serving me well in the wet and cold weather. Very solid Perfect for all rainy conditions thanks to ample pit zips and 3-way adj. hood.Velcro adj. cuffs added bonus.Breathes well.Usually wear med.in Patag. but was swimming in this one.Returned for small which,although lost some room for layering,fits very well.Love it.

Keep it Dry Every spring I try and invest in a new 3 Season clothing system. I did a lot of online reading and research and came to the conclusion that the Patagonia Rain Shadow Jacket was the perfect light weight rain coat for me. (Backpacker magazine gave it a good review) Ive only used it once since Ive owned it, but its lived up to its name, and kept me dry and comfortable on a Big Sur California trek. I would totally recommend this product for anyone looking for an amazing all around light weight rain coat. A+

Par- Not used I have been a loyal Patagonia customer for the past 2 decades, and I was disappointed in this product.

I honestly did not use this item, I opened the package and felt the material and was disappointed. It felt cheap and reminded me of the slick jogging suit material. I have an older rain jacket I purchased from Patagonia in 1999 that is still going strong and was hoping this one would be the replacement (needed a new style).
I promptly put it back in the bag for a refund( did not want to test it since I was not happy with the material)and will look for something a bit sturdier from Patagonia.
I am a new customer with Altrec.com and so far I am extremely happy with the service; Superb!

Great Jacket It's completely waterproof, looks great, it's really comfortable and compressible. Wear it also to block wind, alone or layered.

Top Noch Rain Gear As a resident of the north Oregon Coast, I can tell you that when it rains 12" in 24 hours this is the jacket to keep you warm & dry! Can't beat the durability, breathability and overall fit of this light weight jacket.

A great rain jacket I took mine on a one month trip to Europe last fall. It got a really good test during a couple of torrential downpours. I find the zipper a bit difficult to use. The fit is excellent, & I really like the drop waist in the back. I would by another.

Worked well for the first month.... I live in Seattle so I need a good rain jacket. At first the Rain shadow was good, water beaded up on it and it was completely waterproof. However, with time it began to leak, to the point that five months after it was purchased I get soaked any time I am in the rain for more than 15 minutes. I can't recommend this jacket at all.
Altrec/Vendor Response: Jackets with a DWR (durable water repellant) coating on the outside such as this model, can lose some of their water resistant qualities after several uses due to a build up of dirt and wear on the outside. This coating can easily be brought back to life by using a tech wash by either NikWax or Granger's that restores the DWR.
