The jacket looks beautiful.I live in Northern Virginia. The weather has been unusually cool and the wind has been strong recently. The jacket is far more than enough for the weather and the hood can stand any kind of wind.The only compaint is that the jacket is a little bit larger than I thought. So, I am sending back for an exchange.The North Face's Fathom Jacket is definitely one of my best investment. Also, the service at Altrec is excellent. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

I love my North Face Fathom jacket that I bought through Altrec. It is a beautiful, well-made jacket that I'm sure I will own for years. Don't worry if the weather drops to frigid, windy, bitter cold temperatures -- this jacket will keep you warm and toasty. It is also very cozy -- you won't want to take it off. There are a number of well-placed zip compartments that are great for your cellphone, lip balm, sunglasses. There are also two deep, gigantic pockets that are great for gloves or a scarf -- or to bury your hands in. The hood will protect you through hard wind. The Primaloft insulation is also breathable, so I can enter an indoor area without overheating immediately, unlike down jackets. This is a great jacket for the deep cold, and I think it's very reasonably priced. Perfect for everything from the slopes to sporty, stylish city streets. I'm glad I bought it.

The primaloft too me is warmer than down and it's much thinner. The zipper on my jacket was bad from day one but it's probably just a product anomaly. Perfect for the coldest of outdoor activities, yet don't purchase this jacket if you are looking for a casual stylish jacket this is not for you, this is the real deal for climbing, skiing, extreme outdoor activities. The hood is amazing. 3 stars cause my zipper is faulty if not 5 stars easily.
