Best boot without the laceup hassle you can find
These are truly unisex boots- but are not listed that way. I really like an outdoor boot like this for slushy wet weather, but hate having to lace and tie them. These are great- elastic cinch straps so you can slip them on easily, and they're really comfortable

Great Winter Shoe with Lots of Comfort Built In!
I'm very particular about the shoes I buy since I have podiatric issues. I normally have to use the orthodic devices that have been molded especially for my feet. When I tried the Keen shoes, I was delighted to find that I did not need to wear the usual foot support devices I usually use. The Keen Footwear engineers have somehow figured out how to provide built-in sole support even for people like me who have flat feet. It's amazing!Again, since I loved this pair of Winter boots, I purchased a second pair. What's great about the Keen engineers is that in addition to the cool aesthetic designs of their footwear, they're building in the science of comfortable walking and foot support as well.

super comfortable for my wide high instepped foot
Very comfortable and warm. I've worn them all day at work and they have gotten a little too hot by the end of the day but they've been great for outdoors here in Maine. The criss-cross tie method is a little awkward and one of the bands stretched out on the first day I wore them. I think the laces will have to be replaced with webbing.

Love 'em !
I ordered the Womens' Juneaus because I could not find Mens' Juneaus anywhere. These are my second pair. I bought the first pair about 6 months ago. They are about the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I wanted to make sure I had a pair for a long time, so I started looking. I could not find any Mens' in size 6.5, so I ordered a Womens' size 9. They actually fit a little better because the 6.5 were just a tiny bit (not uncomfortably) snug. They are rated to -25F. They have been comfortable outside in Anchorage through mid January, '08 but they are also not too warm to wear inside for working on concrete - where they are also very comfortable.

My favorite boot ever!
I live in snow country Idaho. These Juneau boot fit me like a dream I have a very high arch and have a hard time finding boots that fit. They keep me totally dry, the fit is nice and snug not big clunky and heavy. This week I have been living in a huge snow storm, each morning I dig my car out drive to work dig out the sidewalks and front door to my office and have been warm and dry all day. Love them will purchase others.. I'm hooked!

great walking shoe
The Juneau boot is extremely comfortable. I use it for walking everyday, both on city sidewalks and on paths along the river. My only caution is that it is not waterproof, so it is best to treat it with waterproofer before going out in the snow. I like this boot so much that I have two pair - holding one in reserve.

I am very happy with the Keen Juneau boot.
I bought the boots in mid-December and have worn them almost everyday since. I just got back from Ireland where the rain tends to make the ground muddy. The boots were perfect.I went with a 9 1/2 based on other reviews but probably could have gone with a 9.

great boot
attractive and comfortable for me--I have a high arc and these could be worn all day--they are insulated enough to keep you feet warm in the winter--Altrec's base price was less expensive than another on-line site and then they were on sale "to boot" Yea!

Great boot, warm and comfortable
I just love Keen shoes. This one is warm and comfortable without having to break it in but I do have to use a shoehorn to get them on. I got a 7.5 and they are true to size for me. I have wide feet and a high instep which means I sometimes have problems getting shoes that are comfortable but these are great!

Great fit and comfort.
The Juneau fits true to size and width. You may need a shoe horn but otherwise is easy to put on and take off. Another winner from Keen!

Great
Very comfortable and stylish. I've received lots of favorable comments from friends. I'm going to take them to Italy in March, they'll be great on rough streets and possible bad weather.

Warm and comfy
I am a Keen addict, I have 7 or 8 pairs of them from sandals to boots. These were easier to get on than I expected from the look of them and plenty warm in our snowy and cold Wisconsin winter. I walk dogs for over an hour every day in rough terrain in all kinds of weather and they are super! I gave 4 stars only because they are a little bit wide and due to my narrow foot I couldn't really cinch them up as tight as I would have liked but they are still warm and feel great on my feet.

Great boot
I am an outdoor professional and am always on the lookout for an all leather boot without gore tex. This Keen boot is great. Keep in mind that Keen's tend to have a wide footbed, cinching the boot tighter is not really possible because of the single elastic lace. But the boot hugs my foot well enough, though there is some sliding on difficult terrain. But, overall, I really like this boot. It's very comfortable and a lot more durable than I ever expected. And it is simple look is very appealing to me--Not real fond of multiple bright colors used in many boots designs. Should last me a six-month field season this year of fulltime workweek in the backcountry.

good for wide feet
I have very wide feet and found these boots wide enough for me. I do have some heel slippage, but that may be because I tend to order a half a size larger than I need because of my width. Overall they seem to be a great winter boot, and keens have been a godsend for my wide foot.

Still breaking them in but...
have enjoyed doing so. Very good fit and the lacing is not as difficult as some review led me to believe. The ability to order the correct size was made easy by ordering two pairs and then sending one back. No need to guess. Great customer support.

cute shoe - odd tie up system
When I pulled these shoes out of the box, I was intrigued. They are as cute as a puppy stuck in a mud puddle. I ordered them in my true size, which now a days doesn't mean much, and I have a very difficult time with fit because I require a wide toe box, yet I have a narrow mid area to heel and very high arch. I put them on - and they fit great. The toe box was perfect for my wide foot and was narrower where it needed to be. My high in step was accommodated comfortably. My only concern and that is why they have a 4 star, is because the "shoe string" is weird. It's a wide elastic gadget that is just one piece. So when you pull the elastic at the buckle it tugs it tighter. I'm a little concerned about ankle support with this type of system. I will keep the shoes and I will like the shoes, but I don't think that I will use them for heavy hiking, let's say through uneven terrain, jumping rocks and such. I believe these will be comfortable for soft dirt terrain. I have sprained my ankle several times so it is weak. I'm concerned these shoes will not hold up if I come across something and my ankle needs extra support. I havn't worn them to give a full review. If you are looking for a LIGHT hiking or walking boot that looks cute, easy on and off and have difficult feet such as how I described, then buy this shoe. There are not too many out there like this. The customer service, sales and shipping at altrec are first rate. I'll be shopping here again.

Fair: Good for some, Bad for others
I'm also going to Rome in March (maybe I'll see the "other" Keen reviewer there by looking at her shoes!). I thought these shoes would be great for walking, but I do have picky feet and a high arch. After awhile, my feet begin to ache and my back hurts. The one strap on the shoe does not give nearly enough support. They are comfy for awhile, but then my feet get tired and begin to hurt. There's no gettin' around it, good support NEEDS laces to keep the foot stable and from sliding. I hope I'll be ok in Rome with these for now though, it's all I have.

I love Keen products!
Yes, the boot delivers with warmth and style...However, if you have touchy ankles (height), and the possibility of nuisance rubbing, I do not suggest buying these.

kind of disappointing
It's been so mild outside that I haven't had a chance to wear my Juneau boots in snow yet. I like the look of the boots and the arch support is good, but they feel wide and the elastic straps don't do an effective job of snugging my feet in the boots. I think that they will come off of my feet if I step in a pile of snow-- even a few inches of the white stuff.

2 Stars Leslie Schiff - 2007-10-03

way too wide
Hmmn, unlike the other comments, I thought these were way too wide and the elastic strap isn't strong enough to keep them securely on my feet. I have a normal width foot and a high arch. They have poor support through the arch. Otherwise, I like the styling. Don't fit nearly as well as my other Keens (I own 5 other Keen shoes and sandals which I love).

need a better foot bed, haven't worn them in the weather yet, but will let you know, so far as a every day shoe needs a better insole.
