Runners who seek a competitive edge on race day find the New Balance Women's WR790 Running Shoe to be a great choice. At just 6.6 ounces in a women's size 7, it's one of the lightest shoes you will find for off-road running. Some cushioning is sacrificed to get the weight down to a bare minimum but it still includes a Rock Stop™ protection plate for comfort underfoot when the terrain turns rocky and uneven. If your usual training runs involve steep terrain or long stretches of hard, rocky surface then this probably isn't the best shoe for everyday use; But if you are a smaller framed runner or usually run on soft forest floors, then the New Balance WR790 Trail Running Shoe is a good match. Feel and responsiveness are excellent here, as the shoe is built low to the ground with the low profile but aggressive AT Tread® pattern to offer positive traction over terrain irregularities that you sense underfoot.

So far, I love these shoes. I feel like they are part of my feet, however, running a marathon a few days ago for the first time with them, since my training was on soft terrain made my feet feel a bit more pain.For trail running and hills, this shoe is light and great!!!
