Outdoor Research Women's Specter Fleece Jacket
The Outdoor Research Specter Fleece Jacket for women is soft, stretchy, and warm. ItÂ’s made of a fabric that is smooth on the outside and fleece-like on the inside. Handwarmer pockets let your fingers thaw after being exposed to icy air.

This is far superior to a traditional fleece jacket. Great fit and super soft. We bought it for our daughter to sail in and it gives her great range of motion without being bulky. Violet color on special price is very pretty

Bought this for spring skiing and wore it on a sunny, not very cold day. However, once up top of the mountain, the wind up there was too harsh and needless to say, I was cold, so I still have to test this jacket out on a real spring ski day. Anyway, I was otherwise very happy with the fit, the color (I got berry) its feel (soft and plush), and it was comfortable on, too. I wear size medium in street clothes, but got this jacket in size large so I can layer for slope conditions, and it is perfect; I can wear base layers underneath in springtime, or use it as an under-layer in mid-winter. Don't expect to put too much in the pockets, however, because the softness of the fabric won't support stuffed pockets, and the jacket will sag.

i am a very casual dresser at work. people do a double take when they see me walk in wearing this jacket. i wouldnt really call it fleece, but it's soft and stretchy and warm. and OR! i just wish there was an inside chest pocket for my phone and id.

I bought this jacket for outdoor activities, but then I found out that is also great to wear it running errands or shopping. I It has a great style that let you look skinnier because it shows your waist. It's very warm and cosy.
Anonymous - 2008-09-04Good fabric, bad fit
The fabric is nice, inside and out, and it does seem stretchy. I wanted something light for XC skiing, but this isn't it. It might fit women with a shorter torso and, um, substantial hips, but it doesn't fit me. I have a longer torso, and the jacket was too short. Also, the bottom of it flares way out -- it looked ridiculous on me. If this jacket fits your build, you might love it, but if you have a long torso, try another jacket instead.

The fit on this jacket was great. However it is not as warm as I expected it to be, so I returned it. Very well made however, and would be good for those chilly late spring/early fall morning jogs.
