It sounds complicated, but the Multi-zone gives you better (and possibly milliseconds quicker) energy transmission to your board's edges without leaving you with the sensation that your boot is in a vice. The 45% glass composite baseplate offers all the benefits of a more expensive polyamide baseplate, but Salomon used a special "glass fiber overloading process" that gives the plate roughly 20% more rigidity.
