Sizing ChartSmartWool Women's Mountaineering Xtra Heavy Mid-Calf Socks
Ideal for a climb of Mount Rainier, or that trip-of-a-lifetime trek in the Himalayas, the SmartWool Mountaineering Xtra Heavy Mid-Calf sock bathes your feet in high altitude comfort. The unique SmartWool fibers have the ability to keep feet warm and dry when the temperature drops and perspiration free when the temperature rises. This is due to the fiber's fast moisture moving characteristics, transporting water before it condenses while still in the vapor stage. The SmartWool Mountaineering Xtra Heavy Mid-Calf sock not only cushions the bottom of the foot, but the top of the foot too. This aids in protecting the foot from pressure caused by stiff boot uppers, crampon straps, and impact from kicking steps up long couloirs. Another feature of great value is the arch and ankle bracing - areas of increased spandex content to comfortably hug the foot and eliminate sock movement and bunching. After all, the last thing you want to worry about is an annoying wrinkle in your socks buried within your boots, crampons, and gaiters.
