Excellent shell for running! This is a very lightweight softshell jacket. Incredibly breatheable! I also love the fact that the jacket is incredibly flexible. I love to run with my sleeves rolled up to my elbows with gloves on in the cold nasty weather. This is a very versatile, awesome running jacket. Highly Recommnded!!

I am an avid runner, in good weather and bad. The North Face Apex Elixir jacket provides a good light weight jacket that will repel the rain and breath on those long runs. The flex material makes this jacket extremely comfortable. You simply can't beat it for the price.

A great light-weight jacket that flexible enough to jog with. A little more thin than I expected but it gets the job done which is the most important thing and the fit is great.

Good wind resistance, very stretchable. Moderately water resistant. Great for slightly cool temps. Does have a slightly dropped hem in the back - not a problem, but did not see this mentioned in the product info. The waist is about an inch lower in the back than the front.
Overall, VERY happy with the jacket.

I wear it as a rain barrier over my fleece on cold damp days or by itself on those windy days that you just need something to break the chill of the wind. Very versatile and the draw string makes for a nice fit around the waist.

Having two might sound excessive, but the versality of this jacket makes it a must. Size L as a closer fitting mid layer that I can go from inside temps to layering well under down vest. Size XL provides a more generous fit so I can use as my daily commute jacket or layered over fleece in the backcountry. Very abrasion resistant, great windproof/breathable balance, and the stretch and fit don't restrict reaching for the next hold or wrestling with my dog.

Bought the vest earlier this year, and loved the quality, fit, and versatility that I had to get the jacket as well. Good wind resistance, excellent stretch, great abrasion resistance...tough hombre!

The Men's Apex Elixir Jacket successfully blocks out cold as a result of wind. In the event of snow or rain, the Elixir prevent any wetness or coldness.
