The Polartec 200 fleece fabric is an ideal middle weight that's warmer than microfleece but not as stifling as the expedition-style fleece outerwear. Polartec fabric has a polyester velour construction with tiny pockets that help trap heat while allowing perspiration to pass through to the outer fabric face. The North Face made their Pumori Jacket zip-in compatible with other zip-in North Face shells, but it's important to pair identical sizes (and you might have better luck pairing with recent zip-in designs).
